If people weren't really sure of Wally Brewster purpose here in the DR they should be now; the Embassy just released an official video supporting homosexual causes in the country in spite of the fact that Brewster claimed he wasn't coming to the DR to promote homosexuality, even though that is why he won the ambassador's post in the first place.

As many have noticed, Dominicans are generally tolerant, no doubt to their Catholic heritage. Nonetheless, tolerance shouldn't be mistaken for acceptance of anything and everything but rather a willingness to let people live their lives the way they want. On the other hand, the gay movement as seen in the US is more than about just tolerance and acceptance because it involves the inevitable confusion of young children and worse classification of said as homosexual even before the are sexual mature, which goes against established science. Dominicans know this and are rightly upset.

The scary part is that Brewster promotion is working well. Because of my frequent trips to the DR, I am a Lesbian now. Beware :)

Chip, it is Gay Pride Month.

"Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. In the United States the last Sunday in June was initially celebrated as “Gay Pride Day,” but the actual day was flexible. In major cities across the nation the “day” soon grew to encompass a month-long series of events. Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, and LGBT Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world. Memorials are held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally." Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual Pride Month 2014

There are events all over the world this month, not just in DR. In Atlantic City, they've declared the beach at the Boardwalk and Park Place as a "gay friendly beach", and are flying the rainbow flag.

Now if the Ambassador continues this after June 30, that's a different story.

Please be sure that all posts are DR related, or they will be deleted.

Bull****! Christianity does not promote tolerance. You are a perfect example.

Christianity promotes the conversion of everyone that is different from what they are to what Christians think they should be. Again you a perfect example.

The number of people that have been killed in the name of christian conversion is staggering. Starting with the crusades. Tolerant, no.
