AAASosua held further Spay/Nueter clinics with Dr Slaymaker in June
AAAS held further Spay/Neuter Clinics on June 4,9 and 11th with Dr Slaymaker and the team of dedicated volunteers.
Dr Slaymaker originally came from Philadelphia and sailed down here about 4 years ago and liked it so much that he has settled here. As a qualified Veterinarian, he saw some of the work done by the AAAS on the Outreach clinic in Jardin Deportivo in February and felt he could make a contribution with his skills to the good cause that AAAS represents.
This was his first major operative with AAAS and was impressed by the quality of the care and facilities offered by AAAS.
He was assisted by Carl, one of the AAAS volunteers and Stephanie who qualified as a Vet Tech after retiring from Ontario Government 4 years ago. She decided to see more of what AAAS does after seeing all the reports on line and was visiting from Onterio.
The operative was also an occasion for some students from the International School to experience what went on and a good place to enjoy the puppies and dogs.
During the day some well known local residents Barb and Lynden brought in a female street dog from near the Ola TV studios up past Hispaniola Residential. The dog had had two litters of puppies already this year and was to be spayed to give her a better life.
During the three days , about 30 animals were spayed or Neutered and a number of other procedures performed. A number of the dogs were destined for adoption in Canada travelling as cabin luggage!
Another successful operative at AAASosua Facilities thanks to all the dedicated volunteers, Dr Slaymaker and many others. Also a big thank you to all the donors, sponsors and supporting organisations that help AAASosua.
