Hello dorrepadmirer, I'm sure there are groups. I have always thought that the ones here in DR1 should put together meet ups or gatherings for this community. Cybe is one thing and great to chat here but it would be interesting and entertaining to meet some of the personalities that post here. If you are ever in the SD area, coffee would be great.

We "TRY" many times.
EVERYONE says what a great idea, promises to go, and then they don't!
I invite people to my house.
If they come GREAT, if they don't, EVEN BETTER!!!!!
That's a JOKE!!!!
At least if no one shows up, I'm comfortable, and haven't wasted any time or gas!

DRAdmirer,
We think this is great but it is all about what you are used to! In US there the Golf Club, on the coast - the Yatch Club, and the Country Club. In many places there is the Dinner club or the Meeting place or the HOA or PTA or even the Church -

When private groups form AS CCCCC says people are invited but dont turn up.
When a successful meetup groups get together - they are overwhelmed with people who gatecrash and fail because of their own success.

It is one thing that people coming here dont consider - social get togethers - there are not any ! Period.

You can go to Nice People networking but it is mainly for business. The Meeting Place in POP is occaisional and a bit high brow really.

Social get togethers are often small clicques that once formed dont want newby's

We wish you luck but!!
