Isn't it obvious?

Only people that stick to the guidelines get passwords.
The posts may go down, but the quality will go up.

After 4 years of this board, you get to know who should have passwords and who shouldn't

I think it would be more practicle to have tighter controls over what stays on removing the outragious or illfitting posts.

If you require passwords you eliminate the new or occasional posters.

Another problem is when some on asks a simple question they can never get the simple answer. I have seen people referred to look up their question as it had been asked in the past. Well if they knew how to get the answer they probably would not have asked.
