I posted this earlier, but by mistake in off topic.

North Coast is where it belongs, so all can read it, not just those with more than 500 posts. Thanks to frank recktenwald for bringing the error to my attention.

The report is taken from a recent issue of the Sosua News.

The first literacy course 'Quisqueya' for residents of Sos?a has recently been successfully completed. The participating students aged 24 to 70 years were very enthusiastic about the results. They said that now they can read in the Bible and the newspaper and even know how to write their own name. They are even able to sign with their signature.

The new course literacy for citizens of Sos?a has already started with enough participants. Mayor Ilana Neumann calls on people to sign up for the upcoming courses so that no citizen of Sos?a remains illiterate. If Sos?a wants to develop further the education level of the population has to increase according to the mayor.
