3. Supreme Court sends corruption case to lower court
The Supreme Court of Justice has sent the habeas corpus petition
made by three officers of the past government to a lower court: the
Ninth Penal Court of the National District. Diandino Pe?a (former
Administrative Secretary of the Presidency and Minister of Public
Works), Haivanjoe Ng Corti?as (former Controller General of the
Nation) and Simon Lizardo (former Administrative Secretary of the
Presidency) argued that they should be released from Najayo Jail
because they haven?t been tried or sentenced yet. The former
government officers were sent to jail after the courts found
evidence that implicated them in a fraud case regarding the
management of the RD$1.4 billion Program for Eventual Minimum
Employment (PEME).

I'm no expert on DR legal system or recordkeepping in the "Program for Eventual Minimum Employment (PEME)" (Hey! is that an oxymoran or a self-fulfilling prophesy?) But, back to reality, Is this legal? Is anybody watching?

This is how the "system" works here! Your party is "in-power".You steal as much money as you possibly can. Next party is "in-power".You are "arrested".Huge Scandale!! Lots of pictures in the "press", and on TV.Legal/political manuvering. You are found "Not Guilty" by reason of: you will have to find the "next guy" from the "other" party "not guilty" when it,s his "TURN!" Criss

I guess it's as plain as the nose on my face. Just as bad as it looks. Right out in the open, in your face corruption, for the whole world to see.

Thanks for the info! (Even though it's depressing)
