There are a lot of good hotels, restaurants and bars not knowing your taste the above guides are a very good bet, you've just got to suck it and see, you won't be disappointed.

Villa Mariposas is convenient and has beautiful grounds and several swimming pools + a bar. You can rent ATV's directly from them and walk to the fisherman's village.

Fully German

Ay ay ay ................ Navias is not a German Restaurant, it is a good steak restaurant that happens to be owned by a German.

Ayayayay, although they have one or two steak dishes on the menu it is not a steak restaurant.
Navia's certainly is a German restaurant, run by a German and they serve typical German (Bavarian) dishes at
decent prices. Yes, German beer, too.

So, what would you call it? :cross-eye
A German (or rather Bavarian) restaurant on Dominican soil????
OMG...

Schmankerl Stad'l

One or two German dishes and their speciality is steak.............it is all about the steak......STEAK STEAK STEAK..................... I've been in it 50 times.................It ain't no German restaurant just because it has a sausage and a German beer.

Look at the menu:
Schweinebraten, Sauerbraten, Zwiebelrostbraten, Rouladen, Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut, Wiener Schnitzel, Zigeunerschnitzel, Jaegerschnitzel, Fleischkuechle (although he calls them differently...), Schweinelendchen, Leberkloesschensuppe, Zuercher Geschnetzeltes, Schinkennudeln, Wurstplatte, etc.

Cows do not only have steak meat and Florian knows how to use the rest....
Navia's is also called "Schmankerl Stad'l"....and that does not refer to steaks. :classic:

German Foods Import

WHo'd want food imported from Germany in the Dominican Republic?

Germans.
(Also Austrians, Swiss and other Europeans who cherish German food, of course).

There are several Germans (in SD and Sos?a) who import German food to sell it to the German (speaking) community.
In fact, there is an Italian and a Dominican supermarket in Las Terrenas selling German products and "Good Old Germany" meat products (from Sos?a) can be bought in various places.

Who'd want only Dominican food stuff 365x a year?? :tired:

ok Where you MUST go is Luis on the beach at Coson.. best to go on a weekend to see the locals or on weekday to avoid them.

watch the sea carefully, this is a surfing beach..

there is a great massage therapist there on weekends .. (no, NOT the happy ending kind)

you spend the day there.

have your concho guy take you out and come and get you. It is a fantastic ride out on a concho... through the chocolate tree groves.

what could be more wonderful than a chocolate tree grove?

Okay Annie, next time we go to LT, you HAVE to come with us. We went once, liked the town, pretty little beach, but aside from some good food we weren't impressed enough to go back. We were kind of bored. So we NEED you to come and show us all these little hideaway places. Deal??
