I was just working on my tool vocab the other day. Wrenches are the same as keys, right? Llaves? What would you call channel locks? Dame la cosa only goes so far..

The first name for that from campesinos working for me here many years ago is one no one has mentioned yet: "martillo macho" or "martillo de macho"

What exactly does ?sledge?mean in this context? Does one use this to adjust sledges?

The RALE dictionary gives mandarria, but the problem is that people who use sledgehammers do no0t normally have a clue that the Real Academia de la Lengua Espa?ola exists. I have heard martillote.
