the trips to cayo arena have been suspended due to very high water. a friend was there just last week and told me that waves were rolling over the entire "island" and not a dry spot of sand to be seen. today puerto plata digital confirmed those conditions. direcci?n provincial de medio ambiente announced cayo arena is now closed for visitors. it will be reopened when things are back to normal.
