Indeed they have restarted the flights but have cancelled all connecting flights to the UK. You have to book separately with BA for the UK to Madrid part, then Iberia for the flight to Santo Domingo. If you live in London you'll have to get up extremely early to avail yourself of the Iberia service. If you live in another part of the UK then you will need to have an overnight in either London or Madrid on the outbound segment. I used their service for many years and they used to include a free overnight in Madrid.

weird, the conections that could be possible was the best of Iberia coming back to Santo Domingo, MITUR signed an agreement for promotion of the Dominican Republic.

The subject matter is the return of the Iberia service....there are BA flights, operated by Iberia which are considerably more expensive than the reintroduced Iberia service Santo Domingo/Madrid. If you care to check people the Iberia website those passengers who live outwith London will need to factor in an overnight stay on the outward leg when using the Iberia route/flight not the BA option..

The WORST airline ever........ but cheap.
I used to travel with them each time. GVA-MAD-SDQ.
But I think I will stick with Delta now, even if it is much longer....... GVA-LHR-JFK-STI.
Or even with AA. GVA-LHR-Miami-STI.

Anything is better than been cramped in a 40 year old aircraft with 70's decoration and commodoties....... and full of dominicans and spaniards who all seem to have 3 kids and a baby each........

Last time they stopped flying to SDQ, I had a return ticket with them. They didnt call or email...... I learned about it on........dr1 !!!!
And had to travel to SD to sort out my ticket:mad::mad::mad:
They put me on a aireuropa flight, which turned out OK.

P.S. I met a cool young dominicano on the flight, we helped an older lady with her hand luggage ( 2 cases and a shopping bag ).
In the shopping bag there was a whole platano racimenta, loads of yucca and 2 salamis !!!!! Think she was scared of not findimg proper food in europe:):).
When we arrived my flight companion and I were called off the plane first........ and he was taking away by la guardia.........

You appear not to understand that BA operate the same route as their partner Iberia but BA is much more expensive than Iberia. I am a long standing Iberia customer but will not use this flight as it does not provide connectivity to the parts of the UK that I visit. It did so in the past ie pre-BA merger.

If you try the Iberia web site you cannot book a flight from Santo Domingo to Glasgow using Iberia. They will only fly you to Madrid thereafter you have to book separately with their partner BA for a flight to London/Glasgow. No routing of your baggage etc....very inconvenient whereas BA will sell you a Santo Domingo/London/Glasgow but at a substantial price above buying the inconvenient Iberia option.

Sorry if I disappoint you, but I am in travel business for 17 years. You do not need to explain me the basics. I am just trying to show that you are wrong in some of your statements.

Perhaps they use them on other routes ??

Last time I complained about having an old plane ( and I mean old, u know the kind with cathodic tube tvs, one for every 30 passengers and the one nearest us wasnt working......) between SDQ and MAD. But then a newer plane between MAd and GVA. 2 hours on the second, 8 on the first......
Find the error.
Lousy food, came past with drinks 2 times in 8 hours......
No place to charge ure tablet, no personnal screen, loud very loud ( plane and passengers.....).....

I stand by my statement, they need to get their act togother.......

Perhaps. But we are talking about MAD-SDQ route? They are using exclusively A333s here.

I am not an advocate for Iberia, I flew their economy class on old planes same route 5 years ago and did not like it either. But times changing. Competition helps.

Iberia used the new aircraft in reintruduce services to santo domingo it was a A330-300 Called Miami

Have not flown with them since they are back in SD.

Last time was 2 or 3 years ago, they were probably getting the last breathes out of the planes before they sent them to airplane heaven.:)

that's because they just started again few days ago :) i traveled with them few times and had no complains about the aircraft itself. hey, it looks like a plane and it flies, it's a plane. sure as hell they did not have 2013 and 2014 models back then thou because it was 2010 or so.
