WOW there are so many to choose from. After reading tons of reviews I still have no idea which one is the best for under 100 dollars. I'm old so no night driving in the DR. Any one out there got one? thanks

I use the DOD LS300W mentioned in the review (excellent quality)...but closer to $150....when I bought mine a year ago. Like everything electronic, prices will eventualy fall and features will increase...be patient

When I was looking for an action cam I came across this guy's site: Techmoan - Techmoan

He goes in depth and covers a lot of details in each review. He helped me make a decision into which is best for me.

I don't have a dashboard camera, but I do have a dashboard mount for my smartphone. Anytime I need a dashboard camera, I just put my smartphone in it and - presto! It cost less than twenty dollars, too.

I thought about getting one, only so that I could go driving and email my motor cop friends the footage - it would be like pornography for them.

can you turn them around to film inboard adventures? or onboard adventures? if u pick up a "friend" can the cam be faced inwards.... or just towards the street distance shots etc...

Now this gave me an idea.
I was going to turn my phone to Golf GPS but I am going to download apps and turn my ancient old phone to blackbox kind of thing.

We use SEYDI F1 Car Camera . Works well and worth every penny so far.

Another idea -
Use the old phone as the screen for a backup camera...
Wireless rear cam showing on the old phone

Surely you can get a dash cam too in the set-up

I advice to buy a big one. It's really nice to see the change in attitude when the PN stops you; once they notice you have a dashcam running they say: adios, te pasa una buen dia.

You really do not have to pay a fortune for a dash cam. I bought one on amazon for U$30 and it is perfect. Does everything a dashcam needs to do, records sound, has a pretty good wide angle, night vision is not too bad. It has lots of settings and options including motion sensor. you can choose from continuous recording or loop recording.
In this country this is the best investment you can put into a car, but you don't need to spend a fortune either. Just go to Amazon and search, there are many under U$50!
