In 2016, the presidential and mayoral elections are held. In the past week an election survey was held in Sos?a about the preferences for the different the mayoral candidates. According to the results of the survey Willie Olivences (El Chamo) of the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC) and Melania Guzm?n (La Rubia) of the Revolutionary Majority Party (PRM) both scored equal to the current mayor Ilana Neumann of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD). But many respondents hoped for a return of the former Mayor Vladimir C?spedes (PLD). There were even talks and hopes for an alliance between Willie Olivences (PRSC) and Vladimir C?spedes (PLD). Such an alliance will, as expected, yield a majority. But there are also some new upcoming candidates, ready to compete for mayor of Sos?a.
One of them is Miguel Barrientos, the current director of CORAAPPLATA of the Sos?a and Cabarete area. So there is already election fever in Sos?a and the candidates are preparing themselves.
