I heard that the company managing the property, for a year, failed repeatedly to heed the warnings from the local Electricity provider about their delinquent account status. So they were disconnected from the grid. But their problems run deeper than that. It seems that the water was cut off also. What makes it worse for many, is that a few years back, some ex-pats bought apartments on the property, which they can no longer access, because of the lack of water and electricity. They even finished erecting a fence Thursday a top the brick wall surrounding the property, and the front gate is locked with a chain.
I stayed there three years ago, and they were having water issues then. They failed to inform me of this at check-in, and refused to refund my money after I tried to take a shower with "their imaginary fairy water" and complained about it. Thanks to Visa, I was refunded my money.
it is going to be a long drawn out court battle to satisfy all concerned, even after the electricity and water issues are resolved.
It is a pity, because the rooms/apartments are spacious and nicely furnished/decorated, with a great location.
Chalk this one up to poor management, and too many bosses again!
