now d.r. pays for food for inmates? when did this start... and are women still allowed to"visit"

Depends. If the person is in a detention center waiting to be presented before the judge, then it's rare. Old system prisons provide some food but often not enough for all. Model prisons normally have enough for all and is of somewhat better quality.

I just hope, they do not overdo it.
If there was prison food like they serve in civilized countries' prisons people here would queue up to get imprisoned. :bunny:

the best....years ago some u.s. guys get hauled off to p.p. jail... all divorced and had dominican children by the time they were released...
had to arrange for their own food... my guess is a woman was feeding them....
and another way to drive up the national debt?

good news for all of the criminals here on DR1 who get arrested instead of a quick deportation.

For wealthy guys the prisons here are not so bad. You get pretty much anything you want other than air conditioning and going out for a walk.

if i get locked up in DR it will be for genocide. that's why i don't go out much. why tempt faith?
