I am sure I read or heard somewhere that Caribe Tours have now introduced a faster 'express' service with less pick up and drop off stops.

I have searched their website but can find no reference as to what times these run from Sosua to the capital and back - can anyone give me the times and approximate duration of the journey please?

faster, OMG. They drive right on the ragged edge rigsht now. In fact I am going out on a limb here and making a prediction that the Caribe Express bus that runs down the mountain into PP will be involved in a deadly accident in the near future. They hit between 80 and 90 miles per hour on the downhill sections.

Yes WB, Caribe Tours has an express that by-passes the Santiago stops by using the new highway around Santiago. Your best bet would be to call Caribe Tours to get the times for the express busses.

One other thing all depending on where in Santo Domingo you want to go, is to get off Caribe Tours at the avenida luperon stop and take the Metro train into the capital.............. but as I mentioned, all depends on where you have to go.

Thanks for the info - any idea how long the journey takes going via the Santiago bypass? Shame the returns from the capital to Sosua are later in the day as I need to be able to drive home from Sosua in daylight (I don't drive anywhere here after dark!). Are you certain there are no earlier ones dv8?
