The basketball team of Sos?a, the 'Sos?a Sharks' has been very successful in the provincial competition 'XXI Torneo de Baloncesto Superior'. In this competition, teams from almost every city of the province compete for the honor and fat cash prizes.
Until last weekend the Sharks, the team from Sos?a, had won every game gloriously. Eventually on Wednesday October 8th they had to stand up in the finals against the dreaded and superior team from Puerto Plata. Although it was an unequal battle, as the team from Puerto Plata was reinforced with professional players from elsewhere, it was an exciting final game. It seemed as if the entire population of Sos?a showed up to see the final game of their team and encourage them. It eventually became a narrow defeat (89 to 85 points) against this strengthened team, and this is an honorably loss. The players of Sos?a Sharks were received in Charamicos by a cheering audience and it seemed as if they did not lose the final but had won it.
