    Default Muy Dominicano

Just when you think you are immune to the oddities of RD.... a new one slaps you in the face.

    So,
I have just returned - got the regular problems , plus a couple of new ones..

    Got propano ? si, senor

    Gasoil?, necesitamos....

I call a new guy.... new station in town.. clean efficient, just got the new thing he pulls behind his truck for home delivery.

after a HUGE amount of discussion about how flat we needed to park the tanque - he starts to pump

he is sooo exhausted from all the machinations and hablandoing that he needs to light up a cigarillo..

right there at the gasoil pumping.. !!
    I mean holy blow-up BatMan....

    I left the vicinity.... pronto

the rest of the muchachos took it in stride.....

His Toyota Tundra could have blown back to Japan !!!

    que vida....

When we still needed diesel for the generator every once a while (now no more as we have solar power), I was offered home delivery.
    I politely declined.

NO DOMINICAN TRUCK (less with a tank) ON MY FINCA!

I used my pickup and a 125-gallon-tinaco (with a drain valve at its bottom, hose attached) to fetch the fuel at the petrol station. Then it was gravity fed into our steel tank.
