I have been doing some research looking for a hotel or apartment for five nights at the end of this month. I would like to have in room safe and kitchen available ai the place.

Short stay hotel with safes
Agree on hotel safes being no use. I'm bringing my own $20 safe from Tractor Supply. Weighs less than a pound, comes with a security cable and big enough for the important stuff. Here is the same thing from Amazon for $16:

It has a security cable. Unless you bring bolt cutters, it's not going anywhere. Only weighs about a pound.

why do you need safes ? just be nice/normal to the people who work in the hotels here and nobody will never steal anything from you...
nobody robbed me in the cheapest hotels here in DR (400 pesos and less - I know MANY of them), so.... Unless there is a logic that they DO STEAL in more expensive ones....
