Hello, Can someone give me exact directions for friends driving from Sosua to SDQ by the north coast route.They speak English & Spanish. They fly out tomorrow after a 1 week visit here. The farthest they have been on the NC was to Cabrera so need good directions. Thank you

Sosua to SDQ
Short version is don't go towards Puerto Plata. Go the other way (east). Just past Nagua, get on the (new - maybe 2 years old) Samana-Santo Domingo toll highway. It ends right by the entrance to the Santo Domingo airport. Total non-stop travel time is about 3 hours and you avoid the traffics of Puerto Plata, Santiago, and most importantly, Santo Domingo.
And don't speed. I've gotten a ticket or two on the Samana Highway.
Just don't stop when they wave you over.
