I am all for more uniformed police, I know the scofflaws don't like it.

Scofflaws? Who you calling scofflaws? What good is hiring more? Better to pay a living wage to the ones you have instead of hiring more underpaid traffic cops. Poorly paying the cops encourages corruption.

Scofflaws are the ones driving while talking on there cell phones, not wearing seatbelts urinating on the street etc...is that you ?
I am well aware that the police do not receive a decent wage, however more officers on the street in Santiago and most definitely in Sosua is a good thing.

I'm all for it if they do their job and the current AMET do their job as well.

Too many times I see reckless driving right in front of AMET and they do nothing.

Too many times I see people breaking the traffic laws and AMET does nothing.

Too many times I see AMET in the street directing traffic and making it WORSE than if they weren't there.

Too many times I see AMET pulling over nice vehicles when they haven't broken any laws.

Too many times I see AMET doing the wrong thing when they could have easily made it right.

The whole department needs an overhaul.

Any call for the expansion of government must be looked at with a jaundiced eye and, if unavoidable, implemented at glacial speed.
