this afternoon 2 houses in the middle of Cabeza de Toro burned down to the ground.
suspected reason for the fire: BS connection of a Gas Estufa, as usual.
luckily nobody got hurt.
neighbours acted quick and went in to disconnect the Gas tank in the kittchen of one house and took it out and also took a Baby out which was sleeping there ALONE! %$$"?%
even that Cabeza de Toro is not near any firestation, the Bomberos arrived surprisingly quick and got it right away under control, as many of the surrounding houses there are just the wooden stuff, half of the barrio could have burned down in no time.
the 2 families are now on the street with really NOTHING, not even some underwear left.
the girls in town already did a collection late afternoon and gathered together some clothing to not let them sleep on the street naked.

Firefighters without Borders Canada has 2 additional fire trucks waiting for transport to Punta Cana. They are a 85 foot ladder truck and a 3000 gal tanker/pumper

Both pieces of equipment will assist the growing presence of a fire fighting capacity of the tourist zone. The tanker will be appreciated. It augments the existing unit and provides the firefighters the added capacity to battle a fire full on.

Note: Firefighters Without Borders Canada has a on and going project to acquire firefighting equipment of all types to place in service in the DR.

Really Commendable to the FireFighters without borders.
