Sooooooooo,

I transfer regularly from my RD account in US $$$ to 2 pesos accounts -- you Know, dinero, payrol, etc

recently, 'no can do'.... all's good until I need to hit "Confirmar" pagina

I go to a branch....... transfer face to face.... he asks for my info in US$$$... the computer asks for pesos
the smallest bulb lights in my head

DONE...... I'm out of trouble for this week -- pay week and a holiday weekend
I ahve $$ , they have $$$

lunch, thinking....... WTF ???

I go to my favorite branch... they know me
the girl calls and tells me --
No, you must enter in US $$ to transfer...... no more pesos

OK, that rhymes w/ the face/face transfer..... good to go

return home -- try it ---------------- useless
furthermore, the pagina still is asking for a peso amount to transfer
another tiny bulb lights up my skull

LAST RESORT
call the Banco Progreso HotLine.... they hablar Inglese most days

Girl tells me to try another engine... drop Google Chrome

I try FireFox..........

PERFECTO !!!!

go figure............

life comes at you fast ----------- or slowly------------- your call

small things are hard, large things - facil......
the easy stuff?? almost impossible

practically a whole day...........
luckily , I am here.... from Canada... a nightmare

Thank you for the information. I file it for future use.
I do not have any problem accessing any (bank) web site using Chrome.
The list includes Banco Popular.

I had none either - until this week

maybe a glitch on their end, or mine......... no matter

but I agree w/ BobK..... I will avoid Chrome more in el futuro

With your response to my post, I checked my access with Chrome, Firefox and IE.
For few moments I had no access at all. In an additional attempt access was granted.

All:

In my view the cause of the brief interruption was an issue at the Banco Popular server.

I suggest that we assess our access one more time. It is possible BP fixed whatever issue.

I use Chrome quite a lot especially for Google Analytics.

Drop....... Buster Gringo tells that his bank here would NOT accept his e-mail address (proxy)
he had to go to Yahoo or whatever.....

I think its on the bank's end..... just a bit touchy , they are

my representative knew the problem and guided me to the safe haven....
not their first rodeo on this issue, it seemed

Internet browser woes

I am going to place the blame where I believe it belongs. I am interested in the opinions of qualified IT professionals about this. Based on the symptoms as described, I suspect a Java version incompatibility. It could have been caused any combination of version changes on the PC you use, the bank's web server, or the development tools the banks web services people or service provider use. It happens quite a lot, especially when older back end financial systems are adapted with Internet facing portals. I would have recommended the same workaround--keep trying different browsers and browser versions until you get it to work (IE, Opera, Chrome, even Safari)

Recuerda que a partir del 1 de julio es mandatorio el uso de la nueva c?dula de identidad y electoral para todas las operaciones bancarias, cumpliendo la disposici?n de la Superintendencia de Bancos de la Rep?blica Dominicana.

I wonder if the bank would accept the wired funds - strictly speaking should they not deny this transaction without cedula?

privately changing money used to be decent bis. years ago....looks like things are heating up,,, bring a check....two or three....fuk no one likes to pay 3% but when u have to you lucky to get the cash...30$ a thous...

it seems from another thread that this notice refers to the new vs the old cedula.

Unless you have the biometric new one, you're SOL.

Passports may still work....
