Using picknsend, eps, or any of those, can prescription-required medicine be shipped from the DR to the US?

I can buy the cream in DR w/o a prescription at a much cheaper price, but a prescription is usually required in the US (depending on the drugstore). Plus, it's much more expensive in the US.

Thanks.

Keep in mind if the FDA does not recognize a particular brand of med...your not supposed to import it....other than possibly with a Drs
Script and a limited no. Of day supply.

Naproxen is similar

It is illegal to be in possession of prescription medication in the US unless you have been issued a prescription for that medication by an accredited physician. The prescribing Doctor is listed on the pharmacy label. No pharmacy label and no script, you will be talking to the DEA, assuming you can get it into the US in the first place but that's a whole other set of potential charges...

Does a DR doctor constitute an accredited physician? I don't know.

Unless that doctor is licensed by some state in the US, probably not. If a doctor is from the US and working in a clinic or something in in DR, that might fly.

Based on the Customs inquiries I got the first and only time I transited to the US via Miami, I think not. The inspector specifically asked me if I had any medications with me. Since my honest reply was that the only meds I had with me were prescribed by my US physician and filled in my US pharmacy, I had no trouble. They were in labeled bottles with the prescriber's name, the pharmacy name and the name and strength of the medication.

I know that my landlord tried to send some dried material to his daughter in the US (think it was some sort of material for tea infusion) and it was confiscated at the Puerto Plata airport.

I don't think I would have been permitted to bring in prescription medications purchased in the DR unless it were a small amount.

It will cost you more than it is worth to ship it back to the US. You would have to send it by UPS or Fed EX or DHL and it would be probably about $50.usd. When you say "cream" are you talking about steroids?

Back in December I had some heart medications sent down by Purolator from Canada. The clerk at Purolator said they were not allowed to send prescription meds. They labelled it as candy and after it sat in customs for six days in Santiago it did eventually get delivered to me in Sosua with all contents intact.
