bomb thread on a plane to NYC

as you know a flight to NYC was redirected back to DR when one of the passengers declared he was a terrorist and threatened to blow it up. the passenger was arrested and has been now identified as american frank bruno diaz. he was allegedly drunk. hopefully he'll spend some time in jail, whether here or back in the states. some assholes should not be allowed to fly.

Yes, as reported in today's DR1 News:
Bomb threat causes JetBlue flight to return to Las Americas Airport
A JetBlue flight with 150 passengers on board headed to New York had to return an hour after takeoff from Las Americas International Airport yesterday, Thursday 14 May 2015, because of an unruly drunk passenger. Frank Bruno Diaz, who was accompanied by two women, had an argument with the JetBlue crew and described himself as a terrorist who had a bomb. He was handcuffed and taken out of the plane on a stretcher.
The event caused the shutdown of the Las Americas International Airport for around three hours.
Following the procedures for this kind of incident, the passengers had to deplane and all luggage was checked. The flight, which departed at 4:45pm, returned at 6:20pm, and the checks did not end until 8:45pm. The shutdown caused the passengers to miss their connecting flights.
Seven flights were delayed, including Avianca to Colombia, Air Caribe to France and Seaborne to Puerto Rico.
On the case, the Specialized Airport Security Corps (CESAC) reported that during the JetBlue 810 flight headed to New York, a Dominican passenger with US citizenship reacted violently, claiming he was a terrorist who had a bomb, a situation that caused panic among the passengers. The captain of the plane announced he would return to Santo Domingo because he was closer there than to his destination.
The passenger faces penalties of between 3 to 10 years in prison and a lifetime ban on flying by air for the violation of Article 81 of Law 188-11 on airport security. He is also likely to be heavily fined.

maybe the word will finally get around,, act the fool, you can now take a BOAT or private plane . No more commercial flights for such morons who wreak havoc on what should be a civilezed way to travel.

6 months is nothing for a dick who scared the hell out of a planeload of travellers and their families.
it was on a US Flight, he traveled on a US Passport, so he should do his 10 years up north at Mickey's.
can he loose his 2nd citizenship over such?, just a thought, i don't know.
and of course he has to be banned for life to travel on any public flight/boat/ferry.

U.S. has jurisdiction on board the US-registered planes (as it is basically a U.S., soil), so if they wish they can ask for extradition.

Yes, jail time in the US AND more importantly his name on the No Fly list.

He likely has made his last trip by commercial airlines to the DR, or anywhere, for a long long time.

Respectfully,

CCCCCCCCC,
a US born and raised US-American, not the only nuthead up there when reading thru US-News of daily occurances, lol.
anyways, give the fidiot the hardest time p?ssible while on the Island and then deport him back to his country where they hopefully will add some many and loooong years behind bars to his vacation package. plane bombers, school shooters, the world has already more than needed of that trash.
lock 'em all away, or better, take the more economically way and hang'em higher.

Mike
