Liquidation of employees.

When the new Social Security law was being discussed in Congress, employers argued that since the new law provided for unemployment benefits, their obligation to pay severance should be abolished. Labor argued back that unemployment benefits were not forthcoming for some time under the new law and that therefore discussion of the issue should be left for later. The law was passed without abolishing severance pay.

Let's say an employee worked 12 month, for 3000.00RD$ monthly, and that she already had her vacation this year, how much would her liquidacion be ?

-You need to give her at least 2 weeks written notice or pay her the 2 weeks.
-21 days cesantia. (21 x "daily wage")

She wasn't paid the regalia, nor had she the 2 weeks notice...

The Labor Department provides you at http://www.set.gov.do/main/calculo.htm an easy way to calculate severance pay ("liquidaci?n"). It's in Spanish though. I did it in your case and it came out to RD$9,168.61 without the Xmas salary and without notice.
