Was there electricity in S?nchez on the Saman? peninsula by 1944, or was it still generators. Were there generators? When did generators begin to get big? When did electrical lines reach S?nchez?

Thanks, Mike

My guess is that there were generators locally

Sanchez was the seat of the first foreign bank, Royal Bank of Canada, and was a very prosperous town for many years. it was the terminus of the RR that served the entire Cibao Valley.

So I would hazard a guess that it had electricity but locally generated. Maybe 1/2 mega?? I'll try and talk to one of my local sources and see..

thanks, hillbilly

I wondered about S?nchez, because when I was in Las Terrenas in 1989 electricy had not yet arrived there. I imagine if S?nchez had electricity it would have been limited. I would appreciate very much you looking into this.

Thanks, Mike
