This may be old news to veteran drivers but I ended up on the Santiago bypass road last night. It was surreal. Like being in the US for about 20 minutes. They have street lights!!!!! It was so smooth you could be roller blading on the highway. Guard rails that not even been hit and twisted yet. I was in such shock that I did not mind the 100 peson charge at the end. It was just great and cut some good time off the SD to Sosua drive. Not one single pothole yet.

i like it too. few weeks ago we were driving to SD and the entire side towards POP was closed, there was a cistern truck on the furthest line, leaking a tall stream of gas. amazing. there were bomberos and MOPC teams on the spot. it is obviously well kept and maintained safe. 100 pesos is a fair price.

Never heard of it. So where in Santiago is it located, starting and ending points?

Haven't visited DR since summer of 2013, hence my ignorance.
