Life in RD is full of surprises.........

Yesterday, George and I were on our way to Santia go - over the Moca/Tamboril hump (La Cumbre)
On the slippery side going down into the valley.

Georgie can be impatient................
and we were stuck behind a variety of vehicles... rear hatches open on some, trucks full for others,
generally a pain....
and Geo had an appointment in STI.... not a good time to dally.

I was trying to exert my calming influence, unsuccessfully ........

Uh-Oh, says Geo.... we have company atras..........

A Bentley Coupe has slid in behind us.... all black

I open my window to catch the gears - for sure this guy will gear down.......... yup !

He snakes in/out of those cars like nothing -- zigs & zags until he's gone ---POOF!.......GONE!

for the uneducated, these cars are fast......... and have brakes to match
the steering is fingertip soft and accurate (all exotics are like this)

I had only seen one here before -- Samana Highway blasting by me at 150mph+
(I know these things)

OK, my sighting for the year.............. I think

Nooo,
Today in Cabrera , no less, a pristine white Ferrari passes me (Cabrera ???)

Giving me Enzo's signature whine as we passed.......

RD - a developing country...........
full of contradictions........

What a place !!!

That's what I always think........... ball player or drug man
Maybe el Chopo is safe in his new home

while they were digging his tunnel, they bought him a car...............

I would NEVER do it here.................... elsewhere, not here
too temperamental, those exotics... need a dealer nearby............. trust me, I know

Friends of Frankie G - for sure

Enjoy your life, cheffie, and try not to worry too much about how the Joneses are doing.

Trust, I'd appreciate a week on a sunny beach sipping mojitos more than a month in an amazing condo in Chicago in February.

Ok I have seen the same thing in Santiago.....Late model Bentleys and Ferraris...What gives?
Due to big time street crime, I would think this would put a huge target on ones backside.
I asked a local attorney I know about it and his response was...."before the local criminals would hit one of these high rollers, they would check out his connections first, to avoid problems"

In Santiago at the Monument, I peeped a cat rolling around in a red convertible Ferrari. He seemed to be doing laps because he appeared more than once, minutes apart.

Nothing like being gawked at by the "muertos de hambre" in such an ostentatious vehicle . What good is living the high life if you can't rub it in everyone's faces?
