Old Inverter Batteries

I bought them in Sept. 2010 and we are still using them, but now they seem to loose their capacityrather quickly.
I do not have a load tester; they are too old to doctor around with them anyway...
The new ones will arrive today, so we'll have them on stand-by and ready to swap.
My wife inquired in LT; they pay 625 RD$/each. that's OK.

Jan 2009 and still going strong but they're deep cycle gels..... 36 in the string
I think the bigger the bank, the less stress they get, the longer the life..

Bigger banks are harder to "balance" and hook up correctly. If a larger set of batteries goes out of balance, one chain can stress the others and cause rapid failure.
Articles I have read advise against more than two chains of batteries, but people like yourself and DonP have had good luck with them.
For larger capacity systems it is better to get high capacity 2 volt per battery (single) cells in a single chain. I do not know anyone who has done that because of the cost of such batteries.
Last year we got 1000 pesos each for T105s. This year our inverter guy said the price had dropped, and he was right, we only got 700 for them. [Two different inverters]

3 banks of 12 is my set-up..... 2 inverters.
Using my % meter, they go down into the high 80% range every night and kick up by noon the next day.
I watch it like a hawk.

Wow... why do you need so many batteries? Are you running your own power plant (solar/wind/etc?)
When you have a large # of batteries to sell at the same time you can get more money.

at a collection center (metalero), depending where, where are you?
The guys picking up in the street will be RD$700.00 - RD$800.00 each.
With as many as you got, you should be able to get top price, at a collection center maybe even a little more...........

We are in Saman? (on the S?nchez - Las Terrenas road).
