It is the world economic structure that is just f!!ked up. If a country is not Borrowing they're probably not to smart. At least if you borrow money invest it into the population and the infrastructure. everybody likes shiny buildings, new roads and highways. if you build it they will come.

A big difference is the expectation of the people and the socialist-type economic system in Greece that is nonexistent in the DR. I'm sure that the average Dominican would love to have the benefits Greeks have enjoyed over the years without having to pay for them. If Dominicans could root out the scourge of corruption the country would have a strong and vibrant economy.

I find it amazing and perplexing that the USA, Canada, Germany and the rest of the G7 didn't make the list. I remember when money in my savings account was earning 13% interest.

The world is in denial. A system where there is 10 times more money in circulation than actually exists is nothing but a recipe for collapse and economic disaster. No country is anywhere near able to repay what they have borrowed, not in this lifetime, not ever. As these debit numbers increase over time it is simply denial, greed and the expectation of being able to get into a market and then get out before a reset that drives individuals. Governments just no longer care and don't expect to ever be asked for payment in full.

Everyone is in debt above their eyeballs except maybe the headhunters in the jungle in Guyana. It's no wonder interests rates cannot be allowed to rise beyond 0.1%. Governments, can't afford to pay the interest on their debts at the rate now. Homeowners who have bought more house than they can afford can't afford to pay their mortgages if interests go up. Banks can't afford to pay their account holders higher interests rates. The truth is that no one and no country can afford to do the things they do as it stands. The US can't afford any more military invasions, Canada can't afford to borrow money to import those things we used to produce for ourselves with our abundant resources, the DR can't afford to borrow more money to build dams, subways or power plants.

Everyone continues to borrow to prolong the orgasm all the while knowing that the emperor is wearing no clothes. It's just a matter of time before someone with a little bit of credibility shouts the obvious that everyone has collectively agreed to ignore and that will be the day that smaller countries such as the DR financially implode overnight. Followed closely by the rest of those irresponsible excuses for industrialized countries.

For a long time I have thought that in my next life I will come back as a dentist. Crappy view 3 or 4 days a week, but more money than one can spend. Now, I can no longer ignore that the ultimate profession to choose is that of a banker. I can't wait for my chance to come back and engage in a 30 year long orgy of greed, avarice, debauchery and criminality without fear of consequence - he who has the money makes the rules. I want my turn to be the tail that wags the dog.

The economic bathtub is full. The water, no longer comfortably warm. It's just a question of time before the plug is pulled and we find out if we spin clockwise or counterclockwise. It is no different here in paradise - the tub will just drain faster as it is not as big as some others.

No thanks. I would rather be the Chairman of the Federal Reserve or a Rothschild.

It appears no interlopers have survived long enough to post anything "linkable" to the internet.

that reminds me of when my brother died.......
his girlfriend at the time, asked about his inheritance

I had to break it to her gently that dead people don't inherit.

Same here.... the hunted heads are dead.... non-posters
