What do all the stickers in the car windscreen mean?

Hi,
I have noticed that many cars have a set of stickers inside the windscreen/windshield. What are they all for? I have seen people mention them in other posts but no explanations.

Thanks
Roy

there are two types:
marbete, which is an annual tax;
revista, which is an annual checkup.

some people remove old stickers before placing the ones. most do not so you see several at a time.

For ever 10 motos you take out while driving, you get a window sticker...

They are actually insurance/registration stickers. Rather than peeling the old one off most just slap a new one on until no one can see in or out of the windshield.

But who does the inspection? One goes into the office with the fee and walks out with the sticker.
Der Fish

That's the registration. For the inspection, we had to take our car in, along with the paid receipt, and they put the sticker on. Easy peasy.

Don't forget the oil change and 'caminando seguro con Dios' stickers too.

oh yeah, oil change too. all references to god, jesus, mary and all saints are usually where front plates would be or splatered on a back window in huge letters.

Where did you take the car? I have had 2 different cars with a total of 4 inspection stickers. I bought one from a guy here on DR1 and the others basically "on the street" all without any inspection.

The lines in Santo Domingo were ridiculous, Mr. Matilda took Mr. AE to a location in Mao to get it done while we were visiting them.

Hey bros... how's it going??

You see I'm heading out to the US and A in a few months and I myself have noticed some stickers as well. They are SO different from the ones I am used to seeing here. Maybe someone could help me understand what they are for???

These are from NY. The white and yellow is the 2 year registration. The blue is the annual inspection.

In a few states, the registration goes right on the license plate.

Let's keep this DR related.

Maybe someone can upload pics from DR?

I have also noticed some cars that have "Soccer Mom" on the back.

Is this some Soccer Association of Single Mothers? How often do they compete?

hahahahahahahaha

The phrase soccer mom broadly refers to a North American middle-class suburban woman who spends a significant amount of her time transporting her school-age children to their youth sporting events or other activities.

Now Sanky DR related.

Yes?

I suspect the original poster may have been wondering about the sheer quantity of the stickers. Window stickers for registration and/or inspection are used in many countries. I've noticed few other countries where the custom is to leave the prior year stickers in place and add the newer stickers next to them. It's a local custom. There is no legal requirement to keep expired stickers. Maybe it's my obsessive/compulsive tendencies but I scrape off old stickers so I don't have to crane my neck to see around them.

A "HEAD-Of-The-Line" pass is only "500 Pesos".
And you skip the "Inspection" part!!!!
The Union guys get hundreds at a time.

I have been driving here for 14 years. I have yet to see an inspection station.
