Does anybody know where Batey La Seja is, in the San Pedro/La Romana area? Or how to get there?

That must be "La Ceja " the Eyebrow?? Hummm

I can't find it on a map...must be pretty small....and I don't have my 1::25,000 maps handy....

But I am sure if you ask anyone in San Pedro they could tell you. Unless, of course, it is in La Romana.

' Batey' means worker's housing on a sugar plantation....

HB,

I have to find my big Spanish Dictionary (it is somewhere around here) but I believe that the word Seja does exist, maybe it is a Dominicanism and I believe it means small lake or puddle of water. But again, the spelling could also be Ceja. There is a very small community in Montecristi called Seja Fresca. I'll ask my mom, she must know about that word.

Back to the OP: I have no idea where La Ceja or La Seja is.

There is a La Ceja on Rt#29 Just east of the Chavon river. About 20 Km NNW of La Romana. Rt#29 is listed asa secondary road. Which means probobly no pavement and plenty of holes. Good luck.
