Calendar of Events...What about Puerto Plata?

DR1, Are there no events going on in Puerto Plata? The closest one on the calendar is in Cabarete re: Sandcastles... Bummer! While I'll be able to participate in that, I would love to be able to go to a few more events with the family in Puerto Plata for the months of Feb - April.

I was also wondering the same thing. Doesn't Puerto Plata celebrate Carnival or the Merengue Festival?? Used to be held on the Malecon, February and October.....Those events were the highlight of travelling down there at that time..

We also posted the Jazz Festival in October and will post events for Puerto Plata as we become aware of them. Readers based in Puerto Plata are encouraged to send us the events for posting. Regarding the Merengue Festival, it is most probable that the date has not yet been set. We will go adding events continuously, so check back frequently.
