There seems to be quite a few people here who know the D.R. well. I am finding it hard to find info on fishing out of Punta Cana. Is it worth packing my 8 weight flyrod and a box of streamers from Canada or am I just wasting my time. I know offshore fishing is available and that's not what I want. I would like to wade and cast in some "flats" areas. Help me out here, I'm allready overpacked.

Thanx

Bring the 8 weight. There are really no Flats per say at Punta Cana. But the beaches are frequently protected by small barrier reefs. Walk down the beach till you get to a secluded area and cast away. Plenty of Jacks and some Snook to keep you happy. Pack alot of Clausers minnows and lefty's decievers. You might want to pack some light wire leaders and long streamers for some "Cuda action. Just remember to strip fast.
