Good resource. Although there are horror stories about incompetent doctors here (usually the very cheap ones), I have found the skills of the average doctor to actually be better than the ones in America, and of course at 10% of the price.

Oh boy, hold on, its coming......

i have seen here levels of incompetence i did not imagine but generally i am quite satisfied with dominican health care. in certain areas private insurance here does much better service than polish health system: any specialist is available at any time, test are done without fuss (i felt a lump in my breast and had mammography performed the same day, despite my relatively young age). the "first come, first serve" policy is annoying thou, i would prefer scheduled appointments. private hospitals are mostly nice. when i had surgery at union medica i stayed in a suite as good as any hotel. i'm fussy about doctors but once i find someone good i stick to them.

i said this before and i say it again, i would like to have plastic surgery and i will do it here. having said that, i would not come specifically to DR for any procedure simply because when something goes wrong the foreigner could run into high costs. at least i know my insurance will cover any issue. that's a huge plus.

If there is a gofundme for that plastic surgery, I am in. Of course before and after pictures are in order :)
