Except for the mention, in passing, of New Yorkers digging ".... into the rice and beans of Dominican diners and the yellow-orange Jamaican beef patties sold at pizzerias," the DR is sadly not represented in this trend.

Could you even make Dominican food trendy?

Alot of perople like Mamajuana Cafe, there are several locations, I much prefer Malecon restaurant, the original on 175th and Broadway is king in my book. Best rotisserie chicken in the world.

We love La Casa del Mofongo in Washington Heights. It's around 182 St. and St. Nicholas. Excellent Dominican food and vibrant local bar scene. Parking is.... interesting.
