IPTV also works well here with DSL even at 3-4Mb d/l speed.
I have 20Mb/1Mb service with Claro, but only getting 15Mb/.9Mb.
The Claro specialist blamed it on my distance to the Claro center.
Some parts of Santiago has Claro fiber optic service - but beware!
Claro called and offered a promotional package, so I agreed to get it, only problem, they don't have fiber optic in the barrio where I live.
The package includes TV service, and they kept trying to install the TV portion using a dish, I told them no, not until they connect the fiber optic.
After fighting with them for a month about it, they sent out a specialist and he told me it will be next year before they have fiber optic where I live.
I bought my own ADSL2 Modem/Router (About $25) because the ones Claro supplies does not allow you to enter your choice of DNS servers. Thus there are some sites that may be blocked at times.
The specialist from Claro gave me a kinda laugh/smile when I explained that was why I had my own Modem/Router. Claro was blocking a VOIP service of mine until I put in Google's DSN servers.
