Default What can anyone tell me about the examenes nacionales?

I heard about these and have not been able to find much about them.

Are they charging students to take them?

I think it depends on the individual school, but it is something small like RD$50 or RD$100.

    I agree with Matilda.

These national tests are given three times a year: That is, you have three chances to pass them all.

The fail rate is fairly high, there are charges of corruption and the selling of the exams.

The exams, in and of themselves are worthless, since they are never used like the SATs, to determine access to a university
or determine future educational perspectives. All they do is complete the certification process that says a student has finished high school.
This is a legal requirement for university acceptance.

And is it totally certain that passing them does not mean the students know anything.
