Hi everyone, I must renew res and cedula.
It expires 29the of december but I must go to SD for other things in january

I heard I have a one month delay to renew without problems...
So until 29the of january

Is this true?

I had my residency renewed 4 months in advance in Veron last year. My cedula was due within 2 weeks and had to be done in STQ.
I did this as wanted the renewal dates close to the same time.

i'm told only 30 days prior. And my cedula and residency expire at the same time.

I actually heard that you cannot let your residency expire or you will have to start everything over again, as if you were new in the country. The cedular is not an issue. I renewed mine last week - 5 months late without problems or penalty. Once I renewed my residency over 2 months before the expire date - no problem.

You can renew after it expires. 500 pesos/month penalty. Now if you're ex. 2 years late, that might be another thing

Can't renew your cedula without renewing your residency first. If you didn't get the new cedula last year, I believe (but don't take my word for it) that this cedula should be free. Might want to call the Junta Centra Electoral and ask 809-537-9649

For foreigners, only one office (is what I hear)... in SD
at the roundabout .......

And if you read the posts here... it's closed until after the elections

The immigration office is located at Plaza Velero, Ver?n.

Please note that you can only renew your residency card. The renewal of your c?dula as a legal resident can only be completed in Santo Domingo.

Issuance and renewal of cedulas for foreigners will not stop during the elections period. Only issuance of c?dulas for Dominican citizens (naturalized foreigners) has been suspended.
