What is the cost of a 5-gallon botellon in your area? Where do you normally purchase it from? For instance a colmado, supermarket or on premise purification? Last, what's bulk delivery cost for water for cisterns? Thanks.

Cost 70 pesos. Could be a few less or more. The best way to purchase is from a Calmado or store that delivers. You don't want to be lugging these around.

we pay 35 pesos or so and buy directly from agua internacional in POP.

a price for a truck of water depends on the size and location. posters reported large truck of water in sosua at 3,000 pesos, for example.

POP:

Botellon: 25 pesos from a local vendor (not sure what?s the brand, have been using them for years, sealed, never delivered bad quality), 40 pesos from colmado.

We?ve only purchased water (not drinking) once in 4 years, last summer during the drought, 400 pesos to fill the cistern (that means the whole truck was emptied).

35 or 40 pesos depending on company. I buy from the colmado, they will deliver, but I usually carry it myself.

Moi aussi. I pay RD30. Then the kid from the colmado carries it up the stairs for another 25. As a red-headed woman of a certain age.....let's just say the Diva don't do dat.

7:30 AM everyday the water vendor trucks start coming around with loud speakers. 25 peso to refill a bottela, and they pass by up to 20 times a day. The "discount" vendors just blare the horn every 50 ft driving around in beat up trucks, and their water is in one of those plastic caged cubes. I think I'll stick to the stainless steel tanks.

$50RD for 5 gallons (sealed, not refilled) in Los Corales area of Bavaro at either the colmado or one of the local apartment buildings that stock them.

On south coast there are several brands, and prices vary by brand. We only buy Cristal or Planeta Azul, both 60 pesos.

That they empty the whole truck, is common practice. Except they empty most of it on the road, while driving to your cisterna, through their leaking valves.

I pay 20 pesos per bottle from the distiller near my house.
I give the delivery boy 5 pesos per bottle "tip".
I get 10, or more, bottles per order, with pick up & delivery.
Same place for at least 5 years, NO PROBLEMS.
I have one of those bottle racks you see outside the colmados.
Holds 30 bottles.we use 1 or 2 a day here.
We all seem happy with the arrangement.
