For those of you who didn't read Listin Diario today.
We had discussed before in the board that the majority of university students in DR were women. Listin partially confirms what it is obvious. In a survey made in Santiago statistics show that women indeed surpass men in universities. In some careers women even make 100% of the students enrolled.
In PUCMM 75% of directorial positions are held by women. Women account for 85.7% Business Administration students, 66.3% of Architecture, 69.7% of Marketing, 89.5% of Psychology, 73% of Accounting, 53.3% of Law. 100% Accounting Technicians and Medicine Internists students are women. Just to mention a few. In other universities in Santiago women account for about 64.4%-67% of all students.
Back when I was in the university I had already noticed that trend. When I graduated 12 out of 15 of my classmates were women. And that was an Engineering degree. I would guess that the percentange wouldn't be lower in Humanities & Social Sciences, Medicine School or Education. Usually women account for the majority of students that graduates with honors. Most professors accept that women are more focussed and usually more responsible as students.
Give us a few years and we'll take over the country. Go girls!! <IMG src="http://www.sassiessite.f2s.com/images/Smilies/thumbsup.gif">
