At one point the development of the FAD was enough for the US to launch an investigation to make sure it wasn't capable of rivaling its influence in the Caribbean region. LOL

I forgot to mention that Luis Puesan's two volume history book on the Fuerza A?rea Dominicana is available in Amazon. For some odd reason the second part is only available in the kindle format and not in the paperback copy, which is unsettling for someone like me that likes to have an actual book on hand and not just an electronic copy. If anyone knows where the paperback copy is available, post it here.

Can anyone provide details of what planes/helicopters they have?

Good question. I know they have some turbo prop stuff and a few bell helicopters. Have scene a euro dauphin recently on the north coast, the kind the coast guard uses but I think its some rich guys taxi

They have Super Tucanos and Huey helicopters and perhaps a blackhawk or two. At the end of the video I posted you can get a pretty good idea of their fleet of aircraft.

All very much needed when we get attacked by Andorra !
The FAD is quite handy for moving supplies after a hurricane and supposedly to combat air transport of drugs. Other than that its just for show in some of the parades and air shows, plus for some pilots to take joy rides or is that joy flights?

That is Right! Trujillo's airforce was among the TOP on this side of the world, the last P-51 were retired on the 80s
