Really simple.
tAKE THE BEANS YOU ARE GOING TO USE: kIDNEY, BLACK OR CHICKPEAS. pUT THEM TO BOIL. Sorry didn't mean to yell!.
After the beans are "softened" (about 85-90% cooked), in your rice cooking pot , put a chicken boullon cube, some tomato paste, some "recao" /cilantro (both the wide leafed and the kind that looks like parsly), some green Cubanela pepper,garlic (crushed & chopped), onion, in a little oil. when the onion and the saute? is maybe 4 or 5 minutes done, add the beans and let boil for a couple of minutes. THEN add the uncooked rice and cook as you normally do, adding a bit more oil when the rice is dried out...
