Everything is running great, best since two years but not so much as to be overwhelming.Come over and see. It's a great year for tourists.

After Samana Santa things quiet down a bit, (Lot)

The cruise ships have been coming in. From what I understand it doesn?t look much like Semana Santa.

If a restaurant has good food it will stay busy year round with or without the influx of tourist.

i don't see crowds, really. the season might have been good for hotels but the restaurants look the same to me.

cruisers make no difference in this aspect either. their arrival affects transit and that's about it. most either stay in port or go to organized excursions.

Cabarete
My place in Cabarete is full of Quebecois, same as every year. They complain about the currency but keep coming. It all dies a death at the end of April though.

They'll be watching their spending.... maybe eating in more, etc.

It affects them, but everybody has a different 'pain' threshold .

It was worse a few years ago at 1.5x..... late '90's.

If you traveling Semana Santa week, here is a little tip for newbies, Drive safely, esp begin on Thurs, all heck breaks loose in many places, esp Cabarete, Las Terrenas, and Samana City, oh my..
and make sure you get a MENU and double check the prices before you order your food.
of like 4 Langosta and Camarones... I LMAO at the surprise even NY Doms get when they see the Final Lacuenta..
and stay safe y'all

I had an excellent season at my condo complex renting my 4 units out. All done with word of mouth and by my property manager.
It's an election year son lots of building going on. Money is being put into Sosua.
