Here we go again. Boy does time fly by fast now a days. I?ve been thinking about starting a 2016 GDP (Gringo Death Pool) but figured since a gringo(a)s life is worth so much more than a Dominicans....

Several of the people who post on here including a few mods would never allow the thread to remain open. I wonder whether or not they will delete this post or let it stand?

Probably coz few Gringo deaths are self inflicted.
Samana Santa is the Dominican version of the "Purge" It's population control and helps strengthen the gene pool.
It's a three way equation like fire. One needs heat, fuel and oxygen to burn. Take away one element and fire goes out.
In the Dominicans case it's Rum, motorcycles and guns.

25 (Locals: Typical annual mass stupidity) 3 (Gringos: 1 by Alcohol Intox., 1 falling from Balcony*), 1 Overdose Viagra) :bunny: 379 (Injured)

*Thanks Harley. Balcony is much better...

Gringos are just as idiotic here.

We could do a yearly gringo death pool, with car accidents, murders, falling off of balcony's, drownings, suicide etc. I would be interested to know those numbers for sure!

If you disapprove of this thread, there's a simple solution. Don't read it and don't post in it.

And those will be my last comments. :)

I'm going with 38 dead this year. Hope its lower but it is the Dominican. Drinking and driving should be a national sport here.

Perhaps DV8 could clarify this as she keeps score, but in the past only dead counted as it would be virtually impossible to keep a tally on the injured. Also dead is dead regardless of nationality.

COE gives the number of mortal victims and people "affected" which is usually quite large. i'm not sure what's the classification but has something to do do with people attended by emergencies during this period of time and includes not only injured in accidents but also food/drink poisoning and probably more. they break it down in bulletins released every day.
