Tributes are pouring in from all over the country and from Latin America and beyond for Magaly, who died earlier today. Her legacy is certain to live on.
I had the privilege of working with her in the late 1990s.
She was also an old friend of Mr. C.

Leading feminist Magaly Pineda passes away
She was the Dominican Gloria Steinem. The founder and long time director of the Research Center for Women's Action (Cipaf), women's rights campaigner Magaly Pineda passed away in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, 29 March 2016 after a 12-year battle with cancer. She was 73 years old. A sociology professor at the UASD state university, she was best known for her tireless work to promote women's rights, democracy, the gender gap in digital communications and the separation of church and state.
