    Question phone jacks

    are the phone jacks that are used in the DR the same as the phone jacks that are used here in the USA? also.. i am bringing a laptop with me to hopefully send emails etc. what companies there offer the internet/email service and what is the estimated cost?

    but before you come some homes are hard wired stop at a local radio shack and pick up a modular phone jack also some older homes use the old four prong variety.
    The new hotels and home use modular plugs.

    If you'll be staying in Cabarete or Sosua there are many internet cafes for you to send email. Otherwise, go to www.wirelesswave.com for wireless internet service, a little pricey, but great 24hours/7days connection.

    What is the website www.wirelesswave.com supposed to do or be? I found no info on wireless internet service at that site. Nothing but "Please Enter URL" and a "Go" button.
