My husband is a Dominican citizen, whom I sponsored to come to Canada. A visa was issued for his son at the same time. Where can I get necessary papers made up so he can travel to Canada with my husband? What is required, cost, etc? Also, will it need to be translated from Spanish to English in order to get on the plane?

Advice please!

If he has a visa then I would think

he would need a TWOV (travel without Visa) setup for the connection in Miami via AA which is the way you probably have to travel to Canada, e.g. SDQ-MIA-YYZ.

You may want to do the early flight SDQ-MIA (arriving around 11a.m.), then the last flight to Canada (arrives around 10:45 p.m.) vs. the 1 p.m. departure since I haven't a clue if the hassle at MIA is long or average.

I assume the visa for both is landed immigrant status which would be OK for Canada Immigration, though they will haul you in for the chat on arrival, but because you connect via USA then you'd be unable to enter without the AA escort ensuring they board the MIA-YYZ flight.

I have sat with and chatted with a few DR residents going to Toronto on business with an AA employee keeping an eye out.

And of course a passport since that may be required for exiting DR and would be a must to enter Canada along with the landed papers.

Traveling to Canada

I suggest also Trina that even though he has the visa for his son, he should get a translated letter from the child's mother stating that she has no objection to her son leaving the DR, NOTARIZED by a lawyer. A Belated thanks for sending me the picture of your son. The traveling throgh the states without Visa isn't to much of a hassel as long as Angel has all the correct paperwork. Yris and Jose came to Vancouver on AA through Miami-Dallas with no hassels.

Thanks a bunch all

We plan to get a letter, notorized and translated, I phoned the government, and they didn't seem to know what they were talking about (what a surprise). Talked to some others, and I'm crossing my fingers.
Thanks again
