a friend of a friend is in jail in DR for having a gun. What lawyer can he call? can he even call from jail? Or can his wife call from the US....Thanks.

People don?t just go to jail here for having a gun. I see plenty of
people carrying guns here. Obviously there is a reason for him being stuck in jail.
Is the gun legal?
Does he have the correct permits/ licenses?
Did he threaten someone with it?
Was he carrying it in public without permit?
Did he discharge it?
