While staying in Santo Domingo hotels, I noticed that the football coverage on TV is not bad. However, some of the games only offered Spanish commentary and others were not shown at all. Is there some way to get American TV, including channels like BIG10 Network, SEC Network, and PAC12 Network?

Go to Betcris Sportsbook on the Malecon between the Hilton and Vesuvios. Formerly called Five Star. They have all the games in English. And you can bet on them in Pesos or US Dollars.

Betcris plays music during the games. They only play the volume during the superbowl and maybe playoff games.

They have 8 games on at the same time. Of course there is no sound on each one.

No but what they could do (as they do for the superbowl) is to put the volume on for the game they put on the big screen. The music being played during football games is not unique to Betcris here in the D.R. It is a common practice regardless of 8 games or 1 game.

Yes, but you are always 2 or 3 plays behind live action.

OP, get you a Roku or Amazon Fire stick, problem solved. I do not leave the USA w/o either so as soon as I land anywhere and an internet connection is available I could have US TV programming.

Buy VPN

Or you can do what I did a week back. Go to VPN EXPRESS and do the one month for 12 US and have access to all US tv. I was skeptical at first, but it works.

When did 5-Star change names/ownership?

Is Jimmy O'shay still around?

We have a Dish Network subscription with a box set for Tampa FL.

ESPN has a massive array of college football on their numerous channels available to cable and sat subscribers.

If a game is not on the Dish ESPN channel, we access a paid and fast proxy, log in to ESPN with the Dish credentials, and can see all the games available.

Hooking up a computer to a TV is easy.

Yep, this also what we do. This is the way to go. It's only costs and additional $15 (or around that) to have the SEC, BIG TEN network, and BEIN (Motogp & Formula 1 races are on this channel). You can even pay for the ESPN Game Plan package and pick up and additional 20 or more college football games on Dish. I also have it on my laptop here in Norway, so i just just spent all this past Saturday night (6-hour time difference) watching college football until 5am in the morning--including the OSU vs Michigan game.

It's the way to go.
